1. I got into town Thursday night (January 21) just before my first screening on Friday at noon. It was a pretty quick turnaround before jumping into a theatre for a first screening. Below is a picture of the Q&A.
2. On Sunday (January 25), I had the privilege of having my work screened to the Native Lab Fellows, as well as some alumni from the group, including acclaimed director/writer/actor Taika Waititi.
3. Below are filmmakers Mike Olenick and UWM alum and adjunct Ben Balcom, who had a film running in the concurrent Slamdance Film Festival. We were seeing Deborah Stratman's screening of her new film, "The Illinois Parables."
4. One of my favorite films of the festival was "Cemetery of Splendor" by Apitchapong Weerasethakul. Below is a picture of the Q&A following the film. It's worth mentioning that actor/rapper Danny Glover sat right in front of me.

5. One week into the festival, I needed a break and wanted to see more of the region before returning home. I rented a car in Salt Lake City and drove north to the Spiral Jetty to enjoy some time alone with nothing around me but coyotes, jack rabbits and cows.
